Fired brass fits in chamber - still bump?

Correct. You can (and should) FL size every time, but you set the die up a bit higher to not touch the shoulder until the case has been fully formed to the chamber. The process goes like this: 1) Fire the case. 2) Measure headspace using headspace comparator. 3) Remove fire control from bolt...

Fired brass fits in chamber - still bump?

No attempts are silly really, if you learn something. Quite a lot of smiths that only run go gauges do that tape technique on their go gauge to turn it into a "no go" gauge.

Fired brass fits in chamber - still bump?

Two good videos that will help you OP: Several more that reference this topic on my channel as well. The short answer is, you don't want to be setting shoulder bump on 1x fired cases.

    New Labradar LX

My customer service experience with labradar told me everything I need to know about that company. Broken port, that they tried to tell me was not broken. They absolutely refused to fix it until I got nasty. I don't care what product they come out with in the future, or what the capabilities...

    Hornady on tuners.

I would say its not necessarily about rifle configuration that's required, as it is about having the system shoot small enough for the addition of a tuner to not get lost in the white noise. Two inches plus, at 300yds, is nothing but noise. Nearly nothing meaningful can be tested there. However...

    Hornady on tuners.

I knew I had video evidence of this somewhere. Had to jump in the "way back" machine to find it. The rifle referenced above: This represents the absolute apex of where I could get this rifle to shoot without the tuner. Six 5-shot groups in the prone position with an average size of 0.233” at...

    Hornady on tuners.

To be fair, there's not really anything to refute. As was emphasized many times, "this is just what was seen by us." That doesn't mean that's all there is... it just means that's all they found. Secondly, I'd like to point out that trying to do tuner work with rifles/ammo that are only capable...

Annealing Brass - Science vs Myths

You're welcome, and thank you. I would encourage you to reevaluate "the primer gizmo." Not just the equipment, but the methodology. The equipment makes executing the methodology much more repeatable... but it's the "how" that delivers results. The equipment followed, because no other equipment...

Annealing Brass - Science vs Myths

They key thing is to run a swirl flame torch. The typical pencil tip stuff most outfits supply with their units is vastly inferior. The swirl flame gives you maximum uniformity in flame annealing. Generally it burns hotter too, so one torch will be significantly more effective. I'm only in the...

To Anneal, or not to Anneal, That is the Question

Annealing is good. Do it. The primary reason why is demonstrated in this video on a per-firing basis. A load that you develop at firing #1, will not behave the same way at firing #5, without annealing. You can start shooting the difference at about 10lbs or so of seating force disparity. So...

The other side of the broken windows theory

Now that I'm done talking with the city boy, I find these kinds of things interesting so I made a map quick. The grey rectangle represents the size of the county I reside in... overlayed on NYC. While I didn't get the size of the rectangle exactly correct, it pretty closely represents the...

I think it's cute that you think suburbanites don't qualify as city types. lol At every turn you say things like "prepper" and now you want to talk about "red dawn" and bradleys. A crossbow for "silent killing?" LOL :ROFLMAO: Like every other city dweller, your reality is defined by what you...

So, care about the cities because pills? Be afraid, because the pharma companies that are poisoning everyone won't be able to anymore? Invasion and war didn't make us afraid, but pills will? You think we're afraid of dying when our time arrives? You think the pharma industry that is more...

The other side of the broken windows theory

City people. City people will never understand living on your own. They like to talk about how complicated the economy is and how they are the only ones with the knowledge to make it all work. What they fail to understand is that we don't need it all to work. We don't need any of it to work...
