    Anyone own a Grizzly G0709?

I have an old 13-1/2 x40 that looks to be very similar, but without a slide-out chip pan. During clean-up, I'm tired if trying to get my hand and various other things up under the bed to clean out chips. I'm thinking about putting a G0709 chip pan on my lathe, but I'm not certain if my...

    Barnes 140 Match Burners?

Both my current 6.5 Creedmoor and my previous .260 shot very well with Hornady bullets. I've been using 140 Amax bullets since I stockpiled before the 2012 election. I also had some good loads worked up for the Hornady 140 eld-m and 140 bthp, which shoot as good as the Amax did. I just...

    Homemade Adjustable Cheek Rest

So, i decided id like to try an adjustable type cheek rest. Everyone thinks they are a necessity, to the point that many non-adjustable stocks end up any number of items taped/glued to the stock to get some extra height. I decided that perhaps it was time to see for myself if its worth the...

    Magnetospeed V3 military model.

According to my google-fu, the model# is msv3-bt, and was supplied to the army as part of the xm110 rifle package. This appears to be a unit that was transferred out of the military through DRMO or something. Anyone know anything about this model? The nsn is 1005-01-645-8136. Called the...

What kind of rifle scope did Billy boy use in Gemini man, to make the 2k yard throat shot, on the guy in the 170mph bullet train? What's the hold for than? Would I be better off with a mil scope or a moa scope??

    Manfrotto xpro geared head?

Anyone have any experience with the Manfrotto Xpro geared head? I have been using a 410 jr geared head for a couple years. It works great, but its heavy as hell. 3.3lbs makes it heavier than the tripod itself. The Xpro is plastic and weighs 1.6lbs. im wondering if its worth buying one.

    Gunsmithing 3d Printable Tap Index

For anyone interested. I've never found a set of taps or tap index that has the sizes commonly used by gunsmiths. I pieced together my tap set, buying them individually but never had an Index for them. I designed and uploaded a tap index to Thingiverse for anyone to download and 3d print. I...

Gunsmithing 10min you'll never get back. FN TBM inlet g-code test, scrap wood

I needed to fit an FN TBM bottom metal in a Manners T4. It took about an hour with a caliper and protractor to write the g-code for the inlet. Heres the code test run in scrap wood. I use old dulled end mills for test runs in wood. With a sharp 3 flute alu-power the lines in the Manners...

Gunsmithing FN SPR firing pin bushing.

I've had an ongoing problem with primers blanking. Edge of the primers were still very round, no flattening but the primer cup brass was extruding into the firing pin hole, pushing the firing pin back in. The stock firing pin in the SPR is .079 and the hole is .084. The extrusions were .084...

Rifle Scopes Anyone using Steiner H-series rings?

I should have asked sooner because i already ordered a set. But, if they turn out to be junk, i can always toss them in a toolbox or re-sell them. Are they quality? The alignment and need for lapping tends to have as much to do with the base quality as the ring quality, but for those who have...

I've been shopping for a reticle equipped spotting scope for several years. I finally found the funding and motivation to get one, an bought a Bushnell T series. Gunsmithing New toys for my garage!

A few months ago i bought a Smith 12x37 lathe and an Alphatig 200X Tig welder, which have both been working great. I recently decided to get a new mill to go along with the lathe and welder. I was originally very skeptical of buying a chinese made squarewave tig welder, but I needed the AC/DC...

Gunsmithing Scored a new 3 jaw on ebay!

I bought a "new old stock' 3 jaw chuck for 150.00 on ebay that the seller got from a lot of tools he got from a shop that went out of business. He listed it as "probably chinese" but with no logos or identifying marks. I assumed it was a grizzly or something and bought it assuming I'd save...
