I'm putting a rifle together to be used primarily for sub sonic shooting with .308 (20" AAC Rem 700). Max range for this rifle would probably only be 150-175 yards. I would like to keep cost of the optic below $800. (The rifle already has a Badger 20 MOA rail and I have Badger medium 30mm...
.260 Rem AR 24" barrel, what's the consensus on lighter vs heavier bullets? Is there a general consensus that gas .260's work better with lighter (say 120-123 gr) bullets than heavier (139-142 gr)? I know that the heavier bullets have a slightly higher BC bit wasn't sure if the gas vs bolt...
I'm almost 100% sold on the Whiskey 3 chasis for a .260 Remington build I just got back from the LRI group buy. The only thing holding me back is that I want it in Sako green... Does anyone know of a vendor who can dye the chasis (minus the metal) Sako green?
Im looking for a factory heavy barrel 300 Win Mag rifle. Which is the better out of the box precision rifle between the Remington 700 5R and the Sendero? I can get the 5R with a 24" threaded barrel for around $1100 and the Sendero without the threaded barrel looks to be about $100-150 more...
Please explain to me why anyone would choose a .300 Blackout Out over a .308. I can definately see the draw in an AR platform where you can shoot sub and super sonic ammo without making any adjustments but doesn't a .308 offer better everything (ballistics, component availability, etc.) when...
Just received my .260 Remington Tactical chambered rifle from the LRI Group Buy. Anything I should know about this chamber? Can I use the standard .260 Remington reloading manual info? I'll be shooting 140 Amax and 142 SMK's mostly. All out of an AICS length mag.
In March '14 I'll be purchasing my first 50 cal rifle. My budget will be around $3k for the rifle (not including Optics). From the research I've done it looks like the AR 50 is the most recommended starter rifle for those looking for accuracy without the need for a lighter weight rifle...
Currently I have a TRG42 that I would like to suppress. Eventually I'll be purchasing a single shot 50 BMG. Would it be a bad idea to look for a 50 BMg suppressor to use on both 50 and 338 LM? I realize it would be very heavy but I only shoot on square ranges.
Teach me about shorter barrel 50BMG rifles (18-24" length). Can anyone give me some estimates on the muzzle velocity of a 50BMG bolt action rifle with an 18-24" barrel? Would these be effective 1000 yard target rifles? The longest range I have access to is 600 yards now and they limit...
How many loadings can I expect to gain by neck sizing vs full length sizing? Assuming I loading .338 Lapua in Lapua brass with a middle of the road charge of H1000 or Retumbo and a 300 gr SMK. Is the increased case life significant (like double or more the number of loadings before the...
Anyone shoot the Rem 700 AAC .223 16.5" rifle at 600 yards? What type of velocity are you getting and is it enough to get you out to 600 yards with its 1/9 twist and an AICS length round?
I'm loading up some 175 SMK's over Trail Boss. I'm loading 10 rounds of 11.5, 11.0, 10.5, 10.0 and 9.5 grains which I'll be using to test velocity and stability in my 20" 700 AAC with 1x10 twist. I'm shooting for 1050-1100 fps. Anyone know what OAL I should be loading to? I normally...
In the market for a .338 LM suppressor for a Sako TRG. Is the Yankee Hill Phantom the least expensive option out there? I know they are heavy but my TRG is a range only rifle so weight isn't a concern.
Spent yesterday shooting my Mega Maten chambered in .260 Remington. The accuracy of this rifle is superb however I found myself only shooting a shot or two before I got up to hunt through the grass for my brass (nosler). So until someone comes out with an awesome quality .260 Remington brass...
I have a TRG 42 with a 10mm cheek piece spacer that gives me a perfect weld with the 35moa cant Badger rail and medium rings. The problem is that I need to use an Allen wrench to completely remove the cheek piece to get the bolt out for transport and cleaning. Has anyone modified their cheek...
Just browsing the nightforce website and it appears to me that the only mil based reticles are the mil dot and the MLR. Is this right? Or are their other reticles with mil hash marks?
I know that the .338 Lapua requires an XL powder die. Does that powder die also work with the standard powder measure? Or do I need to buy an XL powder measure too?
