    Second guessing a part

Building a 6.5 Creedmoor upper for an AR-10, plan on adding a suppressor later. Should I build with a regular gas block or adjustable?

When did dope become an acronym?

So we've been doping wind and doping sights for as long as I have been shooting. Was it the Marines or the Army that decided that DOPE was an acronym sometime around 2000 ish?

Night Vision Wraith 32X HD or 16X 4K?

Looking at both wraith models on sale this week and need some education. In the HD with 32X magnification is 32X realistic or pixelated? The other model is 16X with a 4K sensor. I see that the 4k is listed for 300 yards and the HD is 200. I'm used to 4x for 90% of my shooting so I am...

Rock River Arms "Ultra" NM Triggers

I have shot RRA NM triggers in my service rifle since the spring of 2000 when I bought my first RRA NMA2. Three rifles and 4 triggers later. Still have three rifles, RRA replaced my original trigger when I had problems making weight. They said they had a batch with a bad heat treat and placed...

Options comparable to Bergara HMR for 6.5 Creedmoor for long range.

Looking for a new long range bolt action rifle. I've heard that the Bergara and others are improvements on the Remington 700 action. I don't think there is much in a lower price range that is 1K ready out of the box. Are there any other ideas in this range? I'm probably not buying until fall...

    Nevermind Found An Answer.

Figured out how to do it on my press. I had the mechanical function wrong in my head. Looking to either borrow or use an MEC Supersizer in 12 Gauge. I have a few hundred reloads that won't chamber in my new Stoeger. My Sizemaster was out of adjustment and the rounds function in my 870 and...

Gunsmithing Aluminum Action Rods for AR platforms

Any input on the aluminum action rods for changing AR barrels? Part of me says they would be fine for a barrel or two a year, the other part says just get the steel ones for 20 bucks more each.

    AR pistol loads in 5.56/.223

Has anyone played with less powder in a .223 case for a pistol barrel? I don't know if the shorter barrel gets full powder burn or not. The drawback I see is that if you did make a "pistol" only load it may not be usable in a 20" barrel.

    Lost motivation...

Long time Service Rifle shooter, some Long Range, Bull's Eye, and tried getting into 3 Gun. I also run the monthly club High Power Rifle 100 yard match. Since the end of Quarantine last summer I haven't been as motivated to shoot matches. I tried adding 3 Gun for a change of pace a few years...

    AR-10 or SR-25 Magazine question.

Why do some .308 magazines have a tall front lip like the one pictured? Easy fix but the magazines I ordered ordered were supposed to be DPMS pattern for Palmetto State. The lower lipped one.

Quick release scopemount and changing eye relief.

Has anyone tried using a quick release scope mount to change their eye relief for different shooting positions? For example, moving the scope back further on the rifle rifle for off hand shooting or forward in prone. My experience with cantilever mounts on AR's has been good repeatability when...

    Suppressors Size for cost recomendation.

Looking for a recommendation for a .300 Win Mag and smaller suppressor, with a reliable mounting muzzle device. Some where there should be an average for price and quality. Yep, I'm an election behind.

    Opinions on Ruger Predator

No feelings towards them, but looks like a decent price available on one in 6.5 Creedmoor. I really haven't looked at them so I figured I'd ask here.

Range Report 6.5 Creedmoor weight and velocity

I was looking at 6.5 CM and 7.62x51 as to which was "better". The claim was that 6.5 had more retained energy farther out. When I ran numbers on the two 6.5 CM never had more retained energy. My question is what weight bullet and velocity are you shooting? I need a couple of velocities to...
