    Hunting & Fishing Brown Bear

This guy walked about 75 feet away from the bride and I in the back yard last night. By the time I got upstairs to get the camera he was half way to my neighbors unoccupied cabin where he stopped for snack of cedar siding, paused for a lenghty back rub, then snorted a few gas fumes and buzzed off.

    Hunting & Fishing Brown Bear

This is the sow and three cubs I posted shots of in my Sockeye thread. The grass was so tall on this knoll I think she was having a problem locating all of her cubs. A little over 800 yards from my front deck. I had the camera/tripod facing into a 40 mph wind and I was surprised to get any...

    Hunting & Fishing Fresh Sockeye

The first fish of the run is always good but a few hours from water to plate makes it even better.

    First Plane of the Season

First plane of the season brought in the crew to set up a sonar counter for outbound salmon smolt today. Not that big a deal but it did contain the first people we've seen in quite awhile.

    Mounted in Alaska

When I saw this on the TV listing last night my first thought was why do they have Arctic Porn on the History channel? When I watched it I couldn't believe they made a series on Knights Taxidermy in Los Anchorage. Couldn't believe it was the Russel I knew as they were discussing two week turn...

    Mail Run

Made another mail run downstream to the village yesterday for our first mail in over a month and got back just in time for a Chinook to hit with high winds and high temps. Ice started running from the lake upstream and made me happy I made the run when I did.

    6.5 Grendel Neck Bushings

For those of you using bushings in a 6.5 Grendel resizing die what size is working for you? I went with measuring my neck od on a loaded round - .001 but extracting an unloaded round will sometimes pull the bullet.

    6.5 Grendel/6.8 SPC Info

Trying to find a reliable mag for my 6.5 Grendel. Can't seem to find the 6.5 Grendel forum. Did it go the way of the Buffalo? I also have a 6.8 SPC and a 6MMWOA that use unmarked magazines. Do the Grendel and 6.8 mags interchange?

    6.5 Grendel Reloading Die parts

I was a very early implementer of the 6.5 Grendel and I had dies that were custom built and need parts for them. Looks like the Grendel forum went TU and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. As you can see in the photos I interchange seater bushings and stems and use the...

Hunting & Fishing Brown Bear Photos

Took all these photos two days ago from my front deck: This guy was about 150 yards down wind from me getting a good whiff of my scent So impressed he walked about 20 feet and went to sleep for a half hour Checked me out a couple times during a rain squall. Walked back upstream...
