I spiffyed up my trusty old (1970's) M700 Varmint 243. XLR chassis and Millett 4-16.
I'll probably never get to a range passed 300 yards with it.
85gr hp group well,
105's not so well.
I'll try the middle next, 90-95

My recently purchased (2011) remington varmint 243 has a 1-9.125 twist per remington, curious if yours is the same.

Good point. Being from the 70's I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 10 tw.

My cousin has a 1970's 243 Varmint Special thats a 1-10" barrel. (using the cleaning rod technique)..
