I assume it may be too late to make it happen this year, but I am interested in an Elk hunt. Where is a good place to start researching to make sure we have a good trip? Are there states with good hunting, that tags can still be had, maybe through the outfitter?

i'd like to take my dad out cow elk hunting and was wondering if anyone has insight on good nonresident hunt areas, if the terrain is rough that isn't an issue, I just need to find somewhere with good public access, and hopefully a few elk thanks, Steve

So I was drawn for my first elk hunt here in NV. Done a lot of deer hunting over the years but no elk hunting. Going to check with the BLM and G&F in my hunting area for advice as well but I was wondering if others had ran across good books on elk hunting tactics/trends/etc. Any other advice...

Hey guys My brother and I are headed to Colorado unit 521 for elk in sept. Ive been gathering lots of info but Ive never been there. I talked to a game biologist for the CDOW he told me to try near clear Fork area. Anybody hunt this area? We will probably head over in july to scout it out.

I am wanting to hunt elk in NM this fall, archery or gun. Could someone give me some direction as far as a decent unit- I am not looking for a trophy, just nice backpack hunting (off road) and good possibility of seeing elk if I do my part. Thanks,
