How hard is it to open up a stock for a larger diameter barrel? I have a McMillan A5 thats contoured for a varmint barrel and am thinking of throwing in an SPS Tactical, which I believe has a thicker contour.

I need to know the differnce in opening in the bottom of the stock. dose anyone have a pic of one that has been opened and put a rem bottom metal back in? Just want to know what the differnce would be.. Thank you

I have an HS Precision stock and was thinking I might put my 40x in there. Can I open up my barrel channel just by sanding it? It there enough room to open it up to 1 1/4"?

On my 700 VLS 308 shooting 175 SMK on top of 44gr of Varget I can get about a 1/2 inch group at 100 yards. After about 15-20 rounds my groups open up to about 1 to 1.5 inches. Is this common/normal?
