How good a shooter is a S&W 4006? A friend and gunshop owner found one NIB and sold it to me for $400 plus tax. As it was unfired I figured that's a fare price. I already have a couple of .40ties but may hang on to this one. The reports on the Internet are mixed as to it's accuracy. Mike G

I've decided on carrying a S&W 40 caliber and am trying to decide between the Smith & Wesson M&P 40 or the Springfield XDm 40. They both have features I like as well as dislike and shoot about the same. What are your thoughts? Don't like the B(g)lock so it's not part of this discussion.

I was looking an R8 over at a fun shop and was about to buy, when I noticed some peening of the frame over the firing pin where the hammer stops. Is that normal? I am a little concerned about the Aluminum framed guns, and this kind of gave me the willies. Thoughts?

The pin that holds the yoke that, in turn, holds the cylinder is broken. In the hole, I can see the pin and what seems to be a spring. How easy is this for me to repair? Im pointing at the rod with the grove that is held in by the little pin, with the oven thermometer.

I know the 9MM VS. .40 S&W has been beat to death but is one cartridge more inhearantly accurate than the other? I am looking to buy my first semi-auto handgun and accuracy is more important than Kinetic energy to me. I am not necessarly recoil sensitive so that should not be a big factor...
