We heard and saw a good number of turkeys last Fall while wood duck hunting in this particular creek, so it made sense to go back in the Spring and see if they were still in the area. We had four gobbling from one roost. The first bird came down pretty quickly and walked right up to my buddy...

Not sure how many of you are heading out to chase turkeys this spring. If you are have a safe and success hunt. I will be backpacking into the Gila Wilderness tomorrow early morning. I have a couple of canyons that seem to never get hunted. Will post pics when I get back.

I havent seen anything posted yet recently. Our season in the south zone in Texas opened the 21st of March. I scored on this rio, not a brute but a nice 2 yr old. 9.75" beard, 19 lbs and 7/8" spurs.

I woke up this morning, thinking I was dreaming, to the sound of well over a dozen horned up toms chasing around several dozen slutty hens. After I had spent some time practicing my calls, I went to the yard to take a few pics and video. Season here opens in about two weeks...

Who of you have begun to get ready for Spring Turkey Season. Going in two weeks to begin scouting and looking for roost, and spots to set up. Have the calls out looking at mouth calls that need to be replaced, and chalking up boxes and slates. Getting the decoys out this weekend and will pattern...
