MTU & HV are 1.250 at the breach. There is plenty of room under it in front of the recoil pad.

I bought this barrel for an f-class rifle, but i was thinking about using it for something else now. Not sure what i will do. Lee

That is what I have on my 6XC bench rifle.....it is heavy. But if your going to shoot from the prone then no problem.
Will it fit in a AICS??? That is something someone else will have to answer.

Yep It will fir. The barrel channel on the AICS 1.5 and 2.0 is a straight one. That is why there is a LARGE gap under the barrel if you fit a Sporter barrel or even a Remington Varmint Contour barrel in the stock.

It fits.
Previous Barrel Was 1.25 to 1.00 straight taper.
Was to heavy for a tactial rifle.
Still trying to sell that barrel too.
Reordered and got a lighter barrel now.
It fits.

I wish i could see a pic of a AICS with a 1250 straight barrel on it. I talked with Jon and i think we will give it a whirl. I will go 24" and chamber it for the 6.5 Creedmoor. this will be more of a toy for me as there isn't any tactical matches in my area anyway. I cam always spin another barrel on it and use the big brutus for a conversation piece at the range. Everyone will think it the most accurate rifle ever made when they see the size of the barrel. To funny!!!! Its already paid for so i might as well use it!! Lee

I may call brunos tomorrow and see if i can switch it out for a different barrel. If they have any others in stock. Lee

I am running an AICS with a Medium Palma countour in 6.5, I would go heavy Palma, but not more than that unless you are going to put wheels on it, assuming your not stationary.

I have a heavy palma as well. It's a good looking lighter weight barrel.

This was my RPA action, AICS 2.0 stock, Border 5R barrel - 32mm (1.26") diameter no taper, 28" long. Cal .260 Rem. It shot very, very well.

Plenty of room in the AICS stock - the RPA action has a long tenion so no issues supporting the barrel (I think the m2008 action also has a long tenion).

I've a shilen barrel already ordered.. it will be 1.230 straight 24" cylinder..
I'm still worried about the remington 700 short action that will hold this barrel.
I hope the action can handle the weight.
What do you think?
