Just got home from the range. Took my Tikka T3x TAC A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor out to 1,300 yards, consistently hitting a 18"x18" steel plate.
Furthest out I've ever gotten a 6.5 Creedmoor ... VERY exciting (at least for me with my advanced age and crappy eyesight) !!!
I really do love this particular rifle. It's an amazing price-performer.

Tried to shoot my Barrett MRAD in 300 WinMag out that far this morning, but I struggled to see my misses because of the extra recoil.
Shooting from a bench definitely makes it harder to see the misses.

But the success with the Tikka made up for that. I'll try the MRAD prone next week and see if that helps my "miss-management".

Every Marine a rifleman! It’s not gonna be your eyes that give you a problem shooting prone Gunny. It’ll be gravity when you go to stand up. Don’t ask me how I know. That’s damn fine shooting Marine and certainly worth talking about. OORAH

Amen Brother. Hard to believe in 1976 we had to qualify at 500 yards, with a M16-A1, and Iron Sights. I look at that now, and wonder how I ever pulled that off. Good thing I navigated C-130's ... instead of shooting bad guys for a living. I can find a tiny runway on an island in the middle of the ocean ... but finding those tiny targets at 500 yards really kicked my ass.

now all you have left to do get your target smaller or increase the range your shooting at got to hit a 3'' target at 1300 yards you can do it consistently and then do it in a storm lol or put all your shots inside a Dixie cup at 1300 yards that would make for a hell of a video well what ever you decide to do next good luck or if you go yet further you can do it and pics and video's are always nice to see .

I know what you mean. I hear fellas asking if the $500 scope they’re looking at will allow them to reach out to 600 yards with their ar15 and I’m thinking I sure hope so. The truth is I couldn’t see a target half that distance if my life depended on it. What I’d give to be young again. 😂

Um ... right ... a Dixie Cup at 1,300 ... with my eyes, I'm lucky to hit a beehive at 10 paces with a rock.

Last year I made some 1-mile shots (3 of 5) with my MPA 300WMBA ... that was pretty exciting too. That rifle has been in for warranty work for over a month now (hairline fracture on the recoil lug - action screws won't stay tight - blah blah blah). I'd like to get it back someday and re-try that 1-miler.

Life is back asswards. When you’re young, you’re healthy, good looking and have plenty of time. However you’re broke and can’t afford shit. When you’re old youre health isn’t as good, you don’t look so hot and you don’t have much spare time. When you finally have a little money you can’t enjoy it as much as you could have when you were young. Someone needs to figure out how to switch it around so we can have everything and enjoy it before we sacrifice ourselves to have the things we want and need.
