I'm new to scopes and I'm getting tired of red dots. Do you think the nikon african would work well with a vepr in .308? I know the ak platform isn't great for accuracy buy I'm looking for something better than a red dot. My current range only goes out to 100 yards but they are working on making a longer distance area so I'll probably be shooting out to 200-300 yards soon. I don't hunt(wouldnt mind it if I had the chance) so i'll just be target shooting. Any advice? Is the 1-6x too little for 308? Are leupolds in that price range any better? I'm looking for something in the $300 price range and I've read great things about nikon glass in that range.
