Just wondering if there are any projectile stabilization issues utilizing heavier grain projectiles (200gr+) in a 1/8" twist vs a 1/10" twist 10" barrel for .300 Blackout? My main concern would be a possible baffle strike by the projectile in my suppressor.

Yes, if you want to shoot subs that are 180 grains plus you will need at least 8 twist. I've read that if you want to shoot heavier than 220's you'll need 1 in 7", but haven't tried with my 8 twist 300 BLK, it shoots 220's just fine and I've stuck with those.

10" twist will not stabilize heavies at 1000 FPS. My 10" twist 308 keyholed 190 grain subs.

If you're going to be shooting the heavy sub-sonic rounds then go 1:8. I have two 300 Blackouts (Noveske 10" SBR 1:8 and Rem bolt gun with1:7). Both easily stabilize 240 grain projectiles as well as smaller super sonic rounds. In my opinion your not giving up anything by using the faster twist in the 300 BO.

I've also played around quite a bit with sub sonics out of 308s and 7.62x39s with 1:10 barrels. Found that getting even moderate weight subsonic rounds to stabilize was hit or miss. Seems more barrel/load sensitive.

Thanks folks. I would be going back and forth between super sonic and sub so thanks for the input.

Edit:
One more question............what would be the max grain weight projectile that a 1/8 twist could stabilize?

Thanks for all the input folks. Palmetto State Armory currently has complete 10.5" (1/8" twist) barreled uppers w/full auto bolt carrier for $425. Even comes with a FN made barrel hence my questions about the 1/8" twist barrel.
