Looking at AADMOUNT and others, but I don't see a 35mm version. Looking at a possible future purchase of the Razor HD and I only see really good quality one pieces for 30mm and 34mm. Also any compatibility issues with the AI AE MK II since it isn't a mil-spec picatinny rail? Heard that the Sphur mount won't work on the AI AE MK II as a side note.

Re: 1 piece scope mount for a 35mm scope?

I have seen the Alpha mount, but I thought they only produced 30 and 34mm... I don't really want to bother these guys with just producing a one off mount... not very practical and way too expensive for the manufacturer and the consumer (me).

Thanks for the heads up though.

Re: 1 piece scope mount for a 35mm scope?

I asked Håkan (Spuhr mount producer) a while back if he had any plans to produce a 35mm mount. He said no, but did mention that he might be willing to do a run of 35mm mounts as a group buy on here. You could PM him on here and ask him about it. If I remember correctly he said he'd need at least 20 orders for the same mount before it would be feasible for him.

Re: 1 piece scope mount for a 35mm scope?

I talked to Richard about doing a mount for a USO with a 35mm tube and he said that he might have enough meat on his 34mm mount to just bore out a bit more material to accommodated 35mm tube, therefore it wouldn't necessarily be a one off thing requiring a redesign and i dont think it would cost too much, but thats just a guess Richard himself would be able to clarify.

Appreciate it eleaf. That definitely gives me another option. Any truth to the comments about it messing up picatinny rails? I guess someone on here said they mar them or warp the rails over time.

Re: 1 piece scope mount for a 35mm scope?

I just took delivery of the 35mm AAD mount for my IOR 3.5-18 and all I can say is...give me one for every gun with a pic rail on it. Damn that thing is a tank.

+1
Just got an AAD reamed to 35mm and could not be happier with the part or the service from Jon.

I appreciate the information Adam B and sunburned. I will probably end up going that route. Also will probably end up picking up an American defense one piece for the 1-4 in the future.

Thank you guys for the quick responses.

No truth. I've had one on 3 of my ARs, and no undue wear and tear.

They also return to zero extremely well. One poster recently reported that not only does it return to zero after numerous removals, but that it also returned to zero after taking the scope out of the rings and re-installing it, then remounting.

That's impressive.

Re: 1 piece scope mount for a 35mm scope?

Hi guys,

Yes I have been reaming 34mm mounts out to 35mm for customers. You lose the pretty finish on the insides of the rings but it works just fine.

For this particular rifle, I don't know if my mount would fit due to the non-standard spacing of the slots. If I could get measurements of the slot locations I could figure it out.

However that may not be worth the effort. In my opinion my mount would be excessively high for this rifle. My mount works well on AR or DTA style rifles where the bolt/buffer/boreline, etc, is contained by the top of the stock raising your head in relation to the boreline. This puts it way too high for most conventional bolt rifles.

So it's possible it would work but in my opinion would result in a poor fit for that application.
