1000 yrd 175gr SMK out of....a LTR 20' barrel

Not sure if this should be in the rifle forum, but....my question is for all the remington LTR owners or 1-12" twist 20" barrel owners.

I'm trying do decide on a powder for the 175gr smk to shoot out of my rifle (1-12" twist)

I have,
varget
V150
RL-15

Am I wasting my time trying to find a load for 1000yrds? with this rifle?

^^^^^ This, only I ran 48 gr. Was good for 2650 fps.

I have one of the older ltr 1"10...absolute hammer with 190 smk..lol...dont know why they went to 12 twist...I would try 43 gr rl 15.. with 175...see where velocity is... adjust accordingly. 43 is a lower node i believe.u should be able to get 2550 fps with 20".. hope this helps...

I have a 700 PSS 308 cut down to 20" and I tried the powders you list and then settled on IMR 4064 which gave the velocity and better accuracy and lower sd's with the 175 smk. I shot my 1st F Class match with that combo and took 3rd place.

Just loaded up some 175's to try out. I went with different charge weights with hornady match brass, cci br primers, n150. We will see how they shoot this weekend.
