Has been some discussion about running light bullets in a fast twist. My .308 with a Douglas 1-10 is putting 5 shots into less than .5" at 100yds.
One group was a one-holer and my last shot opened it up to a bit under .5". I am writing this from the range and will go to 200yds if the rain lets up. The POI at 100 is about 1" higher than the 175 SMKs with 45g of R15.

You guys with a do-all varmint and deer rig might be interested.

Not pushing as fast as Vel. you are, but the 110 Varminters out of the Boltgun with 8-twist shoot real good in 30-221/BLK Cal. . nice & tight groups .

I moved on to the Speer 125 TNT's in place of the 110's . The 110's REALLY fall-off Fast past 200 yrd on the energy & the holdovers get big .
125 TNT's carry energy better & are just as tight grouping . The Varmint killing energy is real good with the 125's but the impact noise was real badass with those Sierra 110's Varminters HP's .
.

Thanks, Soft. I have some 135 SMKs, but am wanting to get some if those 125s. I like a break now and again from the 175s and their push.

The 110 Varminters did kill real good out to 150 yrd. with an AWESOME POP-HIT on impact . But I am pretty happy with the killing results with the 125 TNT's Also & they are really treating me good .
If your pushing 125 TNT's out of a .308 the results would be for a very 'good hard hitting' bullet out to 300 yrd. easy for Coyotes with friendly holdovers .
.

I shot a few boxes of the 110's with so-so accuracy. My gun did not like the flat base bullets and the coefficient is like a Winnebago in a head wind. Explosive and hits like grenade launcher at short to moderate range.
I shot a really small woodchuck with a full belly of beans and it was in two pieces after impact. It was standing and I aimed for the spine mid ship.
Very distinct impact sound. Moderate recoil and I loose the target in the scope each shot.
