Making bad guys nervous
One of my guys just got back from school and this was part of the curriculum being taught now. Gave the 12" Drill a go this past weekend and the results were pretty much on with my 24" 700 and Black Hills 175. It is a good drill to memorize for quick engagement.

The Drill is designed to be used with a .308 with a 100m zero.
Effective range is from muzzle to approximately 650m.
It's based on the fact that the average human is 12" from the pint of the shoulder to the top of the head, and is the part of the enemy's body that is almost always exposed.
