Advanced Marksmanship 147 eldm jacket separation?

Having some issues with Hornady’s 147 eldm bullets separating or key holing at 100 yards. Wondering if anyone can post up their findings or link me to the thread this is already contained in? It hurt me pretty good at a recent match so I’m looking to remedy the problem or switch bullets

I've not had a bullet "fail" that I know of, and certainly have not seen any key-holing of factory Hornady 147 ELD-M ammunition. My RPR seems to like them just fine. But, here are 3 I found for you...

Need more details:

• Barrel rifling rate
• Barrel length
• Muzzle velocity
• Barrel fairly new or past break-in

Rifling rate is 1/8t standard right twist
Length=24”
Muzzle velocity=2753
Barrel is past break in. Roughly 1500 rounds on it.
Load is lapua srp brass
Cci br4 primer
147 eldm sitting over 42.2 gr H4350

It only keyholes one out of every 50 or so but it’s noticable by sound as well as recoil.

That's really odd. Everything sounds like it should work. I'd call Hornady if you haven't yet.

Yeah so I have called Hornady and talked to their tech. He said it sounds like copper fouling in the barrel and that I need to use s copper remover and scrub the bore clean. Normally I would totally agree to this except that the rifle and load print 1/2” 5 shot groups consistently and repeatably until it key holes one. Makes me very leery to run my suppressor on it
