155 scenars in the 300wm?

so i am about to get my first 300wm and was wondering if anybody has had any success with the 155 scenars. Please let me know your experiences whether they be good or bad. it is a 24" broughton 11.25 twist if that helps anybody.

I know most guys shoot the heavies but i have the 155 and want to give it a try.

It will work well.

They will shoot very fast.

Once they run out the 208's work really well.

I have not shot the 155 Scenars out of a 300 Win Mag but I have shot the Berger 155.5 Fullbore's with a lot of success. I was using 74.4 gns of IMR 4831, CCI BR-2, C.O.A.L. 2.718". I've fired this load out of a Remington 700 Stainless Special with the 5R barrel and it shoots 1/4 MOA easily at 100 yds but does not hold up at 600. This same load shot out of an Armalite AR30 shoots just over 1/2 MOA at 100 yds but shoots easy 1/2 MOA at 600.

Exactly.

Run your velocities in JBM for the 155 and the 208. Print them out. Find the longest range you'll shoot and use the one that gives you the best wind to that distance.

If it's over about 800 yds., I know where my money is...
