Re: .17 is now a "Sniper Rifle" caliber LMAO

We have a Rimfire Tactical Marksmans Match (Sniper Match) every month .22 .22mag .17hmr 50-150 yards.
its cost effective and fun. The .17hmr does well in these events. and is even more impressive if suppressed.

Outrite calling it a sniper rifle...well to each his own I guess, the word "sniper" seems like an over used word these days..Hence language like "Tactical Marksman Match."

Agreed. When I think of the word sniper I think of the real deal and I would bet most don't use a .17. I guess if you take sniper to mean Marksman then any rifle can be called such. 17's are a heck of a good time to shoot and have fun with though. I have well over 100 different targets to shoot at for the .22/.17 and many are very fun games that we use to compete all the time.

You hit the nail on the Head! Rimfire rifles are tons of fun. Our Rimfire Matches are just that "Games".
People sometimes under estimate the effectiveness of the Rimfire rifle especially the .22

If you couldnt use the word "SNIPER" until you were 30 years of age it would still have meaning.
