Hey guys are you getting this bullet in remmy 700 ltr or pss to shoot well at mag length?, or closer to the lans?..say .020 or .030 off? Thanks..I know its a vld type so jus tryn to get an idea of where to start...

I got the same results going .015 off the lands as I did going mag length 2.81" in my 700 AAC-SD.

I don't think it's a secant ogive/VLD, so you don't 'have' to jam the lands. I've just got the 178 AMAX here, so I can't comment, but .020"-.030" off the lands is always a decent starting point.

These 3 shot groups werent shot thru a PSS, but my Classic stocked 10 twist sporter barrel, but had them seated to fit the mag, 2.830". <a href="http://s1113.beta.photobucket.com/user/JGorski80/media/IMG_0453.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k513/JGorski80/IMG_0453.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0453.jpg"/></a>

This is something that you'll just have to try. My rifle shoots the best at mag length as well. It's an sps. 2.840 coal or 2.2 ogive. What's scary is that it's a .125 jump hahaha.

Remingtons and their "mile long freebore". Mine has even more jump but shoots great at "mag length" of 2.810". For what it's worth, the freebore is the same size as the groove diameter so if you shoot a bullet with a fairly long bearing surface it's not so much the "jam", it's the fact that the bullet's centering better in the freebore. A good excuse too to keep the carbon ring out of the front of the chamber, just behind the second shoulder.

Good call! I like that
