Been shooting the 178 amax'es for a few years with great sucess and now they are out.I din't relize the eldx was longer than the amax and now I am having trouble with seating depth. They won't fit in my mag when loaded to the same lenght as my amaxes.

Anyone know if the eldm's are the same lenght as yhe amax'es?

The 178 ELD-X is great bullet! Shoot it exclusively now out of my 308's out to distances of close to 1200 yards. It does not like to be seated long or loaded hot in my guns. My load is 43.3gr of Varget seated at a COAL of 2.805

Are you measuring from the ogive? How much jump for your AMAX and the ELD-X to lands? You loading for an internal mag or a DBM?

Ive heard people say they shoot just fine close to the lands (loaded long). I have some ready to be tests this weekend and they are sitting .020" off the lands of my DT barrel for an OAL of 2.87. DT mags are about 2.96". What type of jump are most people using on these?

ELDs are definitely not the same length as the AMAX. They are around 1.40 and I think the AMAX is somewhere around 1.35. Don't quote me on that.

My last batch of 178 Amax measured 1.325" long.
