178gr A-Max vs 175gr SMK with RL-15?

is there a difference between the 175gr SMK and the 178gr A-max as far as reloading and pressure issues?

i have a R700 5R Mil-Spec and am wanting to load the 178gr a-max. i am hoping to get similar accuracy as the m118lr.

anyone else use these bullets? with reloader 15?

I load them the exact same way I load 175SMK. IIRC m118LR is 42.5 RL15 and lake city brass.

i used to load LC brass for my old M14 but now i have once fired FC brass. any idea what the charge should go up to with commercial brass? i know the only way to know for sure is a chrono but i dont have one.

I use another powder, but they run the same for me, except the A-Max *might* be 30 fps faster.

Got promising results with RE-15 and the SMK not long ago, but with that stuff now at $27.00 for a pound, I'm not interested in confirming it or developing with the 178s.

YMMV,In my case I found the Amax to be very picky about seating depth,I use RL17 or H4895 with a 175 SMK and call it a day
