I have a 26” m24/40 contour barrel that I’m considering cutting back to 18”. I know there is a velocity loss, and I’ve accepted that, as I will enjoy the handier nature of it. That said I’m mostly curious in the finished weight, as this will be sort of a crossover that will be used most for target shooting, but will also be flexed into hunting. Does anyone have experience with what an 18” m24 .264 barrel would weigh?
I know I could just pick up a lighter contour barrel, but if I can make this work, I’d rather do that.
