So today Im shooting at the max our range offers (200yds) and I notice that the bullets are dropping only 2 inches instead of the 4+ inches they were dropping with the 16 inch barrel. I guess faster bullets drop less.

The small velocity change is not the cause...
Are you checking against the same zero of the other barrel? If so, you have to zero both to the same baseline (say 100 yds) to make any comparisons. Different barrels have different alignment and vibration patterns, and this usually affects POI, vertical and horizontal.
