Working up loads in my Rem700 30-06 hunting rifle using both AA4064 and IMR4064. The bullets are a Sierra Pro Hunter 180gr soft point with a flat base, and a 180gr Game King boat tail. The Pro Hunter shoots extremely accurate with either powder of the same charge weight (50.5gr and sub 1/2" groups at 100), while I'm struggling to find an accurate load with the Game King. Both cartridges have the same overall length, same case, and primer. Why such a drastic difference in accuracy with the only difference being a boat tail?

What could I try to improve the accuracy of the Game King or even other boat tail bullets.

I've even tried developing a 165gr load with Hornady Interlock, Interbond, and Sierra bthp hunting bullets.

Barrel is a 1 in 10 twist sporter and is suppressed. Velocity with the Pro Hunter and AA4064 is 2650fps. I haven't ran the IMR powder over a Magnetospeed yet.
