Sounds a little heavy for a 308 in my experience.
185 is about where my 30-06 shines, my dad's 308 likes 150-170's (so lots of 155's and 168's get used).
EDIT: My point on this was don't expect to see 2900 fps, I'm sure you can shoot them just fine, and you may very well get better accuracy from these at 1k than a 155, I've heard both stories from guys. No offense meant, I'd like to hear more about people that shoot 180+ from a 308 with better results than a lighter bullet with flatter trajectories, I have lots of 168, 174, 178's here but very few 155's and they're getting harder to find.

The 185g scenar yields better accuracy than the lighter 155g scenar which tends to give more flyers than the heavier 185g bullet in my barrel, guess it could have something to do with twist as a lot of palma shooters prefer a 1 in 12-13 twist when shooting the 155g scenars, my av vel with vit n550 and the 185g is 2,680 so i guess should be supersonic beyond 1k, I use the 168 grainers mainly for 300-600y.

I don't shoot the 185 Lapuas, but I do use 190 gr Berger VLDs to 1K.
Berger recommends a 12 twist for them.
I am launching them at around 2580 fps - very conservative load with RL-15.

Hi There, I also have few boxs of Berger 185g VLDs but cant seem to get them to shoot as well as the 185g scenars, Are you jumping or jamming your 190 VLDs, also do you find 98-100% case fill ratio loads work well with the 190 VLDs, My load with the 185g scenars is 49g vihtavuori n550, molly 185g Lapua scenars, lapua cases, cci br this load is very acurate in my 1 in 11 twist 308 but same load with the berger VLDs is disapointing, i have been loading the bergers from 0.40 off Lands to being jammed but acuracy is poor so far.<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Insert Name Here</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I don't shoot the 185 Lapuas, but I do use 190 gr Berger VLDs to 1K.
