Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 Ambi Mag Release?

Is there anyone out there running an Ambi Mag Release for their 1911? I am right handed, and have fairly large hands, but I ran my HK USP for years and became quite comfortable with using my trigger finger to drop my mags. Currently, like most, i have to cant the 1911 in my hand to hit the release, then regrip during each mag change. In theory, the Ambi Mag Release seems like a good idea but I can't find many people who actually run the Ambi Mag Release on their 1911. I have a Springfield TRP and am considering sending it back to Springfield for the Ambi Mag Release install.
Id like to hear thoughts and opinions of those of you with any experience with this.
