I looked around a little bit and didn't find much. I need another 1911 and I want a threaded barrel. Besides spending 3k on a Les Baer or something, the only thing I have found that I like is the Sig Tac Ops Carry. I won't be carrying the gun much since I have a little 380 I usually grab, but on the days I wanna lug it around, I wanna go with a 4" barrel rather than a full size plus threads which makes it close to 6". What, if any, other options are there for a 1911 with a threaded barrel already installed. If not, what is the going rate to have a barrel installed if I decide to have a smith do a barrel for me? Thanks guys hope this hasn't been gone over too much

If you like the Sig, just get the Sig, it's not likely to perform incredibly better or worse than any other 1911. It's the only 4", railed 1911 I know of that comes with a threaded barrel. Alternatives would be the Kimber TLE/R Pro or the Springfield railed champion, but then you'd have to buy the barrel and pay to have it fitted after which you'd have the same result but have likely spent more $$$.
The only caveat would be it not fitting all the holsters out there.

BTW, A Baer costs a lot less than $3K, most are well under $2K with a little shopping

Re: 1911 options

Thanks asiparks, I was assuming a Les Bear with a rail and threaded barrel and everything was pretty expensive, hence I didnt even look. I figured the Sig was probably my best bet. Unless I can find a decently priced Springfield or Kimber and just install a barrel, I'll go with the Sig.
