Are the older 700 triggers(in this case, from a 700 made in 1966) as good or any better then the later generation, pre-Xmark triggers?

Re: 1966 Rem 700 Trigger

They have had a few minor changes from the trigger to the later pre-xmark ones, but overall they are pretty much the same beast. They did have some problems with the double sear as I recall, and went away from that quickly after they introduced the model 700. The only other distinct difference on the first triggers was the flat safety lever. From my understanding the very first batch of M40A1s used that first series trigger, so to have an accurate spec build, I think that flat safety and double sear is more desirable.
