Range Report 1st RR & 1st Shots with Rem 700

Me and my wife went to the range for the first time with my new mistress Saturday. Even though it didn’t turn out as well as I planned, it’s always a good day when you get range time. The worst part was trying to dail in a new scope with 20-30 mph full value winds at 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock. Not to mention one of the coldest days lately.

My "Mistress"
-Rem 700 SPS TACT AAC-SD .308
-Leupold Vari X-III 3.5-10x40 Tactical
-5.11 Long Range VTAC Sling
-Bi-Pod

and her food - off the shelf 150 gr Remington Core Lokt

I did manage to get a couple of halfway decent groups but nothing to write home to mom about. Wifey even wanted to give a go and took one the last groups before ammo and winds forced use to call it a day.

I figured I would go ahead and post without pictures, but I’ll try to get a couple of pictures up later tonight.

And then the wind picked up and we ran out of good ammo at 100 yds

What distance? What is the size of the circle? Looks to be about an inch. I think with good ammo you will shoot better. My stock 700P will group right at an inch or under when I do my part with FGMM 168's or 175's. It does like 168's slightly better but they won't shoot as far.

I had just mounted the scope about 30 mins before so I needed start close and then back off to try and save on ammo. I still ran out though.

You are correct the circle was about an inch or so. I just drew one to put the cross hairs on something.
