20" .260 Muzzle Velocity Question.

I had a 22" .260 I just sold and I was getting 2780 with 43.5gr H4350 and 142 SMK. I know it's not 20" but will give you a good idea. You'll probably be right at the 2750 mark

I get 2730fps from Hornady 140 BTHP's and 43gr of H4350 in my 20" 260. It scares hell out of 2900 with 123 Amax and 44.7gr of H4350. Both loads in RP brass.

Interesting. How have you found the temp sensitivity to be with this powder.

I've pondered testing with it, as it is one of the few powders I can still find on the shelves, locally.

Haven't shot it in super hot conditions

In my 20" .260 with a Brux 8.5" twist, I am getting 2755fps with 140 amax and 2850fps with 130 accubonds. Both loads are with H4350, Norma brass and Rem 9.5 primers. Seated to max AI mag length. I am generally shooting at around 275' asl.

20" 6.5x47 is at 2860 with 123 amax and re15. Over 2700 with re15 and 140 sierra MK. .260 should do at least as good.

It's a 6.5cm gasser but I'm getting around 2750 with 142 smk's, h4350 and a 20" noveske barrel.

I have 2 rifles one in 260 and one in 6.5 CM with same bbls. So I know they are very close, I have a 20" 6.5 CM that gets 2793 from factory 120 amax loads and 2600 with the 140s factory.

Hope this helps

Win M70 LA with a 22 inch Krieger barrel, 42.3g of H4350, 139 Scenar, necked down WCC 308 Brass, AV of a 10 rd string about a month ago was 2820. Temp was in the high 60s.

Great topic, looks like this points to about 50-100fps loss depending on who's 24 vs. 20 inches velocities you choose to look at... less of a difference than I expected.
