I am looking for a rail for my 700 . Stainless or Titanium weight really is not a issue. The action is stainless.I want the strongest mount I can get. It will get bedded .I am also thinking of going with #8 screws .Is it worth the effort? This rig is a 300 RUM so I am going for as much support/bulletproof system as I can.Would like 30mm rings to match. Murphy looks good but which one?

Go with Murphy's steel or Titanium rail, throw in a couple Badger rings and that you will have a "bulletproof" system IMO.

#6 screws are fine, but some guys feel better about #8's {Its mostly a mental thing}. Either size will work fine.

Hello Scot,

Personally, I would recommend the stainless base. The titanium isn't any stronger, just lighter. If weight isn't an issue, stainless will save you some money you can put towards better rings or glass. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

There is only one strongest. It is found here. http://www.nearmfg.com/
I can get it for you or he sells direct. You will have it in 5 or 6 business days.

Here is a 30 MOA on my 338 Lapua Rem 700P. It came with the 8-40 screws and provisions for 5 screws. They are not needed though.

Night Force makes an okay budget minded rail. It's a little rough but it works.

Your 100% Correct,... light is right, if your humping it. Mine has #8 screws with a recoil lug an bedded, never been an issue.
