It's time again for the Wild River Ranch Hunts for Heroes (HFH) hog hunt. First, I have to say a word or two about why I do this:

Taking wounded veterans on a hunt is just one small way that I can show my gratitude for anyone that would sacrifice so much for me and for you. These people exemplify the strength of our freedom by volunteering their service to the country and going into harm's way. This is going to be a long war, and while it will end for many of us some day, for these wounded soldiers, it will be with them for the rest of their lives.

I hope that others will consider taking them on a hunting or fishing trip. Please contact me or my assistant at www.wildriverranchtexas.com if you are interested in donating or coming to the 2010 Texas banquet.

I also want to thank my neighbors and partners who worked for three days and nights to get the new "rat patrol" truck built and running. I could not have pulled this off without their help. Pics of the new rig (pre-camo) are posted. We have lots of pics, but I put up the best ones first. I will be glad to post more if the thread stays active for a while. I also want to thank the volunteers from HFH for their help cooking, cleaning, etc.

I think these guys had a great time, and therefore, so did I.

We shot 4 hogs and could have had more, but they were in dense cover and with no wind and no moon, staking was very difficult. We shot all these pigs with the new Barnes 95 grain TTSX bullet, using thermal, PVS 14's and D-740's courtesy of TNVC. I also had help from one of the builders at JET suppressors who donated his gear and services as a guide, including letting all of us shoot the "happy switch" on his M4. Hope you enjoy the pics and that you will thank a serviceman or woman for their service.[/span]

Here's the vets and crew:
