Previous matches were under the direction of Terry Cross, Jim Clark, and Casey Simpson. Last year’s hugely successful match was under the direction of Richard Emmons.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Hey Luck good to hear that there will be another match at LRA. I enjoyed shooting the last two they had there. I hope we get to go to the place that Rich told us to meet at when he put on the match. The babes there were wall to wall.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Pete, that was Superior Bar and Grill, not confused with Superior Steakhouse.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Comfort Inn at the junction of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and I-49 on the South edge of Shreveport about 15 mins from the range.

Adjacent to the hotel are Wendys and similar places as well as Home Depot, Academy Sports and Starbucks.

Two miles or so east of the Comfort Inn (the interstate runs north and south) is a Copelands small-chain seafood / steak restaurant of New Orleans origins. The portions are over the top and dinner is @$20.00+. I recommend, instead of stopping at Copelands, go the the next intersection 400 yds. farther, turn left (north), and in the shopping center on the right is a place called Monjuni's. A local family business, it's good and not chainy. A stone's throw farther north within eyesight are Carrabas and Macaroni Grill.

A good steak is at Anthony's on Mansfield road convenient and not too far, and the Cub on Kings Highway. These are two holes-in-the-wall excellent steak places.

The last chance for a meal is on the way to the range at the turn off of I-49 and LA #175 Frierson Exit. The Relay Station truck stop. Service is sketchy and the food is a little better than that but it will get you to the range.

To get to the range, keep going Southwest on 175 for about two miles. Turn left at the bill board for the range which is two more miles down that road, and then some. You can't miss it. Call me at 318-572-0559 if you have any trouble or questions anytime or if you're wanting Mass times.

The fanciest bar is Superior Steakhouse at Line and Pierremont not far from the Comfort Inn. Second choices are the Cub on Kings Highway and Superior Bar & Grill on Line Avenue. The former is a little more relaxed and has billiards too.

LONG RANGE ALLEY is 750 acres of former farmland. I've been to the major ranges and training facilities in Texas. LRA is far superior in size, layout, liberty and facility with a full-service Pro-shop, sporting clay range and recently installed RV hookups. 1000 yard pit service. Call Lloyd Pentecost, the Pro Shop geezer, for ammo or gun needs. He can buy and or receive.
This is a REAL shooting ranch. See you boys at the briefing.

ROBO, hope to meet you finally. Go ahead and send in now?

We will make sure Lucks & Co. have all the help they need to continue the reputation LRA has as a venue for a top shelf shoot.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Count me in, Lucks. I hope to be sponsored by Belton Feed and Tactical before the match!

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Nice range, hot chicks, and real Cougars. What's not to like?

I don't have that weekend off, but I'll try.

Maybe we should just pretend to have a match and spend the weekend at the Bar and Grille!

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Don't mess around is all I can say. This match fills up every time.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

LOL...I'm at Superior damn near every other Wednesday night for dinner for work and a regular at the Courtyard on the Riverwalk and Starbucks on Line Ave.

Seriously doubt I'd be able to come down for the match, but is Long Range Alley open during the week to the public?

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Would love to be able to pencil this match in, too early in the year to tell yet

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Looks like an awesome match guys. Will have to see how things look when time draws a little closer.

Lol!
Superior Bar and Grill is the main reason a couple of guys from Central Texas would be putting on a match in Louisiana!:)

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

I'll be there, as usual. No camping this time though. June down here is too rough to spend in a tent!

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

I'll have it on my calender for sure. I'm sure the other "Rapides Boys" will come too. Wouldn't seem right without Divers and Ryan. Maybe that Eunice fellow can make it!

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Divers and Ryan would make the drive worth it. Always fun to hear the bald one babble on. Thought that Eunice dude moved to Belize or somewhere.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

I'm in!

I can't think of a better reason to cross the Louisiana border for the first time in my life

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Yes it was Belize. That's where his boyfriend Siegfried lives, but I hear that he might be able to pry himself away for a match in his native country.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

I'm definitely there. I was at this match last year and can't find one thing to complain about except that damn hostage that got in front of my bullet in the kill house. Thanks for putting this match on.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Sounds like a great match. What preference will be shown to PRS members? Early registration?

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Here. Of course that IS what he meant. Stop trying to stir up crap. Its unsportsmanlike.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

I'll be there! Finally a match close by

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Not trying to stir anything up, just trying to decided if I am going to sign up for PRS or not. It's a cost/ benefit thing but thank you for making sure no one anything up.

Casey, there are other possibilities besides priority registration like discounted registration or side matches for PRS Members. Contrary to what you may have ASSUMED I am pro PRS. If there is priority registration I was going to go ahead and sign up.

I prefer to stay out of that drama

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

You raised some valid points. And sign on up. Its a good deal. Hope to see you at LRA

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Is the Long Range Alley open to the public? I am in Dallas and have a bunch of time off this month and would definitely drive out there for a day or two if it is.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Adam & Rob
Keep up the good work down there, have a fun and safe match. Mark

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

LRA is Semi Private, it has memberships. I'm a member and usually drive up and spend the weekend from NOLA. This month is pretty tied up for me. But I'll be glad to meet you up there when I can and take you as a guest.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

should be alot of fun. Ill be there for sure.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shreveport

Casey, thanks for reporting on the local flair! Superior is worth the trip alone. However, as to the selection process, the details are still being worked out. Lucks and I will make the information avalible when it is determined. As to the round count, I will leave that to the peanut gallery at this point

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shrevep

Important!!!!
Registration has been changed from March 4th to Sunday, February 26th at 8:00pm CST. We did this to help avoid a conflict for anyone who was at the K&M match when registration opened for our match.

Please help spread the word to anyone you know who may want to shoot the match that the registration date has changed.

Re: 2012 Louisiana Tac./Prec. Rifle Match, Shrevep

I'll make this one for sure since it's in my back yard.
