I have thought about this a bit, get the ballot notarized? Sounds like a real pain, seal the ballot and have the notary stamp the signature of the person someplace on the outside. That will work, but I am sure there are some bent notaries out there.

I don't have a solution for the people that can't be there.

To add I think many of you at one time spent some time in the military as well. Tell me when stationed in Germany did you vote in german elections, or the elections back home? Back home is the answer. Same if you are in someplace like Guam, or even another state. You have a "home" somewhere and that is where you vote.

Military stationed overseas has had absentee ballots available for over 40 years.

Anyone can request an absentee ballot.
The problem is that the absentee ballot has been bastardized into the current mail in ballot.

My wife and I got one last election and we didn't request it. That is where the problem is.

Well, we knew this was coming. I don’t really believe the vote counts and hasn’t for some time. However, I’m still going to go vote, in person, out of respect for those brothers and sisters that gave their all to give us all that right. Nothing more nothing less. There was plenty of proof before that.
