Well somebody had to do it !
I have embarked upon a .204 journey
lemme tell ya it's a lonely road ...Not enough people out there partaking in it

I have 3 custom Reamers made from PTG
1) 20 Majestic - .223 Remington transformed into a wildcat straight wall 42 degree shoulder @.204" Bore
2) 20 Fastback - 22 ARC same as above
3) 20 Slingshot - 22 250 same as above

Connor Hart @ Hart barrels has struck up a partnership with me and committed to as many as I need
every month .No wait .

Currently on hand 3- 26" MTU contour 1 in 7 " in .204"
This month's order is 2 - .224" MTU 26" 1 in 8"
1- 6.5 MTU 26" 1 in 8"

Primarily playing with the heavies in .204 with Berger 55 Varmints on hand
Gonna place an order with Don Unmussing for some his his Heavies in 60 plus Gr

and Black Hole bullets guy .

These are for Mi coyotes and Vermin...

So far a load with the berger 55's and AA Power Pro 2000 MR has produced great groups and speeds with 3600 fps at 29.5 Gr
in a Wilson Barrel 1 in 8 twist .204"

just starting ....

Hoping to see others playing with the .204" in heavier projectiles and faster twists

There never have been many subcaliber folks, but there are some that just don't hang on this forum.

Many were on Saubier's but recently they retired and closed their forum.

Even Todd Kindler closed his shop. So the WoodchuckDen and Small Caliber News are in the past. (There are still a few copies of The Terrific 20s out there, so if you wanted one I wouldn't put it off.)

As a result, most of those 0.204 folks end up on the parts of the AS forum in two or three places, the reloading section, the small caliber section, and the varmint hunting section. If you like these 204 wildcats, you would find good company over there.

I too have had the .204 cal addiction for a long time. I burn through a lot of 204 R, but also love to run wildcats like the 20-250AI and the 20 Creedmoor AI. Once you get a taste of a 20 cal 55 Berger going over 3600 fps... it becomes an addiction.

Good Luck and... In for the range reports.

What’s the case capacity of the 20 Majestic? Any chrono data to share on it? Thanks
Havnt filled one yet with Agua to validate
But I suspect 31.7 or close .

I have verified a 3573 fps with the Berger 55
2 weeks ago with 28.7 gr Pwr Pro 2000 MR

I believe I can take her to 30 gr

Ill test shortly..

Actually loving the velocity so far .

People may wonder why in the hell I went with a forty two degrees shoulder.Rather than just a forty

I am trying to decrease the amount of pressure and erosion on the throat. And bore as possible

I do believe turning the gas in the cartridge.Ninety degrees back into the case will have a worthy effect.

This does, of course, come with a slight amount of disadvantages
That being it will inherently hide the typical
Symptoms of excessive pressure.

So you have to remain vigilant in watching your primer pocket and your cases for integrity.

Work up very slowly.

The good news is, you can reach your velocities, that you desire. And obviously accuracy without much effort.

The the most attractive thing about this cartridge is obviously the efficiency.Very small amounts of powder utilized for such performance and component availability.

I have looked into purchasing a corbin press
As I wanted to make my own 55 60 and 67 grain .204 bullets that are extremely high in BC ... Such as the berger fifty five..

But components are like unicorn shit.
You just cannot get them

Corbin requires a minimal of three thousand on any order with regards to 204.

So we are very limited at the moment. It is such a niche market.Trying to get anything over forty grains in the 204.

Barrels like what I have with a fast twist are extremely rare.

I'll get some pics up over the weekend

I'm not going down the road of hand making heavy 204 bullets myself, but if I was...
I would ask RG "Randy" Robinett where he is getting his jackets. He makes a 20 cal 40 grain BT now and then.
Great guy and a great shot too.
