I am looking at doing a 204 Ruger barrel for my Bighorn Origin. I will be shooting the 32 gr Hornady Superformance varmint ammo in the rifle. The barrels that I am contemplating are a Mullerworks 1-11 twist and a Mullerworks 1-8 twist. The rifle will be used for prairie dogs at a distance of 50 to 300 yards. Any advice on which twist rate to go with?

I’d do the 11. 8 is gonna be a little over the top imo.

I have a 20 Practical barrel for my TL3(10 twist). Fairly short barrel, but it rocks to beyond 500 yds with 39 and 40 gr bullets. I shoot 39’s bk’s because they significantly outperform the various 32’s in wind drift.

I have a Mullerworks 8-twist on mine, and I'm really happy with it. I've shot 32s out of it right at 4k FPS (26" barrel) with decent grouping on paper at 100, so it's not like they blow up due to RPM or anything.

For my varmint loads, I'm working with the 39/40 gr pills... and have been doing some work with the Berger 55s, too.
