I recently purchased a box of 215gr Berger Hybrids to shoot with my '06, the only problem is that there is virtually zero data on this load. I am fairly new to reloading and have loaded 168gr SMK's and 168gr VLD's with unsatisfying results in long range performance. I will be using H-4350, I also have H-1000 and H-4831SC if someone thinks those might work better. I'm looking for a place I should start then work up to where I need to stop then back it off. Any input is helpful. Thank you-Philip

oregon,

I've had good luck with Norma MRP, so I would tend to recommend the 4831SC. 4350 is temperature sensitive and H1000 is too slow.

If I'm not mistaken it will take to much H1000 for your needs here. If I was in your shoes, I would go with the H4831 you have. Work up to 57gr. of powder watching for pressure signs. If everything is fine, then keep going, moving slowly in .5 increments. When you find were pressure starts back down .5gr. You should be able to reach 2,600fps before pressure signs show. Remember all guns are different though. That H4350 will work to, but you will get higher velocity with the 4831. If you want to try it work up to 53gr. with care. If all signs are good to go, then increase from there. I hope this helps a little. Thanks, BullyDog

Send a request to Berger and theyll hook you up with load data, I use them every so often and generally get an answer in 24 hours, weekdays of course.
