I'm putting together a 22-250 as a coyote rifle. It will have a 26" 9 twist barrel to shoot the 75 amax. I'm wondering if there is a consensus on what powder to use. I have plenty to choose from so if there is an obvious one I'd like to know what I should be considering. I've only ever run 250s with light bullets before. Thanks

That is exactly what I have except I've got a 1-8" finished at 25". I am starting a load development using RL-17 and H-100V. Both powders are a fairly similar burn rate. I have started at 36.0 gr. of each and working toward 38.0 gr. It looks promising, I'd like to acheive 3250 fps. w/ either load. Punch those numbers in any ballistic program and see what happens! Coyote load! Keep us posted! I'll try to do the same. Good luck!

I have RE-17 but hadn't thought of using it. I was leaning more toward RE-19 at 36 and working up to 39ish.

My 22-250 is a 1in8 twist 28" Krieger barrel. I built the rifle with the 75 grain A-Max as my target bullet. I use H-414 in mine. Great performance. Tom.

Helped a friend with one a few months ago, ended up around 37gr of r17 out of a 22" kreiger barrel. Velocity was 3325.

This is a pre-chambered savage barrel so it'll stay 22-250.

Thanks for the replies guys and sounds like there is a variety of powders in use for the application. I'll try the RE-19 and some RE-17 and go from there.
