i use a Silencerco sparrow and a SWR Spectre on a 17hmr and 22wmr. no problem at all as both are rated for the task. make sure your suppressor is rated for whatever you shoot through it...

I use my AAC Element all the time on my 17 HMR. OR should I say, My grandkids use it all the time.

Depends on the can, I believe that most 22 rimfire suppresors are rated for the other common rimfire cartridges. If it is a 22 caliber centerfire can then make sure it is able to be broken down for cleaning and shoot away.

Actually the cartridge the suppressor is going on is either going to be a 17AH, 19Calhoon, or a 17FireBall. I have not purchased the suppressor yet. My question was more towards would a 22 caliber CF suppressor work on the 17 or 19 caliber chamberings?? Thanks, Tom.

It will work. However, bear in mind that the more space around the bullet as it passes through the exit hole, the less sound suppression is evidenced. How much louder it will be, is for you to evaluate. If you Google silencers you'll find a long article about some experiments made in .30 caliber that stress that point.
