Are the threads on .22's generally shorter than on CF rifles? Looking at all my .22's they are about 1/4 shorter than say the threads on my .223 rifle. If so is there an industry standard?

I bought AAC suppressors 20 years ago. I was sent prints showing how to mount them. I think a 22 can gets a .5" muzzle to shoulder. Find out from the mfg.

The "standard" thread length for rimfire is shorter, the exact length I can't recall but I think that the .400 from the previous post is there. One point to consider if you plan on running a direct thread .556 can on your rimfire much is the carbon ring that will form in the last .100 of your threads.
Thanks all very helpful. Follow up question. If you asked for a .22 rifle threaded for 1/2x28 would you assume it would be the shorter thread? Noticed in the two documents it's listed as .500x28 and 1/2-28 for the centerfire.
Always verify. Some gunsmiths or companies may be better than others. My Savage MkII was actually slightly longer than rimfire spec from the factory.

I thread barrels as a service for customers. I have always used .400" as the length for 1/2-28 rimfire and .600" as the length for Centerfire. You need to tell your gunsmith exactly what you want. They may not know and it is better not to assume.
