.223 rem 35 grain Hornady NTX

Just curious why you want to shoot that bullet? I know its gonna be fast but it has a .177 g1 bc. Unless you are shooting something at like 100 yards or less I'm not sure it would be a good choice. Even inside 100 yards about any other bullet weight would be a better choice. An 8 twist isn't going to be ideal either. I doubt it will throw the jacket off of it, but isn't going to group well I dont believe. I'm not being an asshole so dont take it that way, just trying to understand what your wanting to do.

I shoot a lot of prairie dogs within 100 yards and am looking for a load with higher velocity for improved performance that compliments my suppressor. Still wanting to know if anyone has sent this load down range with 1/8 twist and has any data to share.

Might look into having your barrel rechambered into 223ai. Can still shoot vanilla 223 great but will pick up quite a bit of velocity.

I tried some 40gr vmax in a 8 twist ar back about 10 years ago and I remember they didnt group that well and ended up just taking 55gr vmax on that prairie dog trip. Good luck to you. Just order a 100 box and give them a shot!!

Make sure you shoot several of them without the suppressor first and make sure they will not come apart in flight.
I've seen very light jacketed bullets vaporize 10 ft in front of the muzzle, the 8 twist will be way over stabilizing them.
I'd hate to see you ruin a suppressor.
The 50 grain ballistic tips (any brand) will vaporize/hamburgerize a prairie dog in .223 within 300yards.

Shot them out of a .223 AR (WOA varmint chamber with short freebore) with a 1:12" twist. Shot just OK, but could not get them to shoot accurately as the 40 gr V-Max or Berger 52 gr FB target bullets. I also tried lead-free Nosler bullets in a 204R rifle and they were less accurate than loads using lead-core bullets. Not impressed with lead-free so far. But one has to use them when varmint hunting in CA condor counties or anywhere in CA after July 1, 2019.
