.223 Remington Brass from First Breach

With Lapua .223 Remington brass being so hard to come by I have started evaluating other brands.

I started using brass from Nosler (Nosler Premium) and I am on my 7th firing. This brass seems to be pretty good but not sure if it will last beyond another firing. The biggest issue is that the primer pockets are loosening up a little. While this may be partly on me, the Lapua brass seems to last longer. I have not paid much attention to the primer pockets in the past but just ordered the right tools to better gauge and document how close they are to SAAMI specs and how consistent they are.

I havent tried Hornady or Starline in .223 Rem yet.

I heard about a company called First Breach out of Hagerstown MD. I went to their website (firstbreach.com) and was surprised to see that their brass is supposed to be match quality and the cost is half that of other more well known brands. Because they are so inexpensive, I ordered 200 cases so I can conduct various tests and see if this is too good to be true.

Has anyone ever tried brass from First Breach? If so, what was your experience?

If this does turn out to really Match Quality brass, they could become my new go-to given their low cost and made in the USA.

Try Starline 5.56mm brass. It's harder at the case head. And it's $141.50 for 500 cases vs Starline .223 Brass @ $137.00. Both with free shipping.

Thanks for the feedback on Lapua .223 brass. I regularly visit Whidden and Grafs and where possible get on the notification list for when they are available but no notifications were sent. I guess they have recently received new shipments.

I expect the new brass from First Breach today and plan to do some testing to see how they compare.
