Curious to see what others are doing for a trainer load. I'm just collet sizing necks on separated range brass, blc-2 and a 62 bthp.

H4895 is my favorite 223 powder, unless you are loading on a turret/progressive, then i'd look at CFE223. I know a guy that almost won a match once with a 223 trainer load. But he was a bad mfker.

75 bthp/eld over 24.7gr varget from a 22" 7 twist. Dope with both claims 2925ish fps. They are loaded long. The bthp is 2.380 and the eld is 2.541.

I want to try the cfe223 since it burns so clean at the top end of pressure, but tryig to find it around here is a joke.

27 gr CFE223 under pulled 55gr fmj. It's a shoot a lot and have fun round. I load them about 2k at a time.

5.56. good standard training load is:
Hornady/Xtreme/Etc 55 FMJBT
OAL: 2.200-2.230
Powder: TAC
Grains: 24.0
Primer: Anything

Shoots soft, pretty accurate, great for working on fundamentals.
