223 with 55 grain nosler ballistic tips out of a 16 inch barrel with 1-7 twist AR

does anyone here have experiance with 223 loads with 55 grain nosler ballistic tips in a 16 inch barrel with 1-7 twist
Trying to get my velocity at over 3000 fps. ive tried a max load of 28.0 grains of CFE 223 and only got 2900 fps .

I agree. CFE223 is a little slow for shorter barrels and light bullets. 8208XBR, H335, H322, Benchmark, and TAC would be better options.

Close to a max charge of Benchmark will in a 1:9 & 1:8 twist, I would think it would in a 1:7. Its accurate too.

When I checked my notes 8208 in an 18" barrel with a charge of 25.4 gave 3114 fps. Reducing 30-50fps per inch of barrel would get you around 3000. I didnt test this out of my 16"

FWIW, 25.0 grains of Benchmark with CCI 450's in LC brass @ 2.255" gave me 2976 ft/sec in a 16" BCM ELW tube.
