I would like to get a 22lr trainer. I would love to have the remington full size model, but hate to give $900 for a 22lr. I've been looking at the cz models, but no nothing about them. Do ya'll have any suggestions or advice? Thanks for any tips and info.

The Marlin Golden 39A
You can get one for about 550 new. I have one and it is very accurate. There is no telling how many rounds I have put through it in the past 10 years. For a while I would shoot a box of 550 federal hollow points a week. After ten years and thousands of rounds it is still a very fine rifle. It is the most accurate 22 I have shot or owned. I can hit empty .22 brass open sight about 10-20 yards, or shoot clay targets in the air. Again a very fine .22

Perfect if you have a rifle with a MCM stock on it.

Cheap and accurate. </div></div>

Right on. Throw in some Wolf Match ammo and you are going to see some very exciting result.

Re: 22lr trainer question

Perhaps not the best option, but this is what I have.

Ruger 10/22
Green Mountain stainless heavy barrel
Boyd Tacticool stock (ordered)

The trigger was tuned by a friend. Not counting the barrel threading and suppressor, that's about $400 for an accurate trainer, as long as the stock turns out to be what I hope it will be. For a trainer I would probably prefer a bolt action, though.

Re: 22lr trainer question

i went with a similar rifle as Jamie

why, bc i already had a 10/22 from a decade ago and a bull barrel

i contacted Chris Wallis at wallisforge.com

he built me an amazing wood stock, basically a non-adj a3-5

i showed it to the fiance with a mcmillan and she could not tell a difference between the two

chris does a killer job, and can turn your 10/22 in a bad ass and cheap trainer

now i just need to get a liberty shoo-fly suppressor and i will be set
