The 243 my son shoots the throat is shot out. I have seated the bullets out to 2.970 to get them to group again. That is about as far out I can seat the bullets with the case trim length. How many more rounds do you think until that is done?

No one can say for sure, but you can have the barrel set back and the chamber recut if the rest of the barrel is still in good condition.

It is in good shape. The barrel now is only 24". If they do a cut back. They would have to take an inch off the barrel. That would take the same amount of time as rebarreling something new.
I might just have him shoot my 308 with 155s.
