.243- It's a Fever

Three months ago I had one .243 that is a 60's vintage 700 with a steel buttplate. I had no interest in .243 until I ended up with a Mod 70 and decided to have it retubed with a heavy barrel. Today, I have the Win 70 and a 700 with heavy barrels and am thinking of another. That 6mm ctg is too much
fun not to have several of. With the 105 Horn BTHPs, small groups are commonplace. Lapua brass and 4831sc or 4350 make it happen.

I gotta stop reading the reloading threads. Gives me too many expensive ideas.

I fought this idea for a long long time, but my shoulder injury made it more of a necessity. However, now that I have had plenty of time behind the .243, I wish that I would have made the change a long long time ago!! Great accuracy, almost no recoil impulse, super easy to load for, a ton of brass, powders, and projectiles to choose from. Absolutely love the things!!

The 105s, Lapua brass, and H4350 is exactly my combo as well!! Great choices!!
